How does this apply to learning? Focus less on the details of the problem and more on the process of how the details become the solution. By instilling in students problem solving skills instead of mnemonic devices, students are more apt to learn.

The concept of Jing is the always-ready program that instantly captures and shares images and video…from your computer to anywhere.
I have used TechSmith tools such as SnagIt and Camtasia for years to create training materials and quick tip tutorials. Jing is an extension of these products, a GIGO (get in - get out) tool, enabling you to create a screencast and post to a site in a matter of minutes.
Here is one I did on using the chart wizard in Excel:

What a wonderful free tool!
Google SketchUp is software that you can use to create, modify and share 3D models. It’s easier to learn than other 3D modeling programs, which is why so many people are already using it.
I took our flat 2D plans of our house and used SketchUp to create a virtual walk-through. It has really helped in seeing the different angles in the rooms and how lighting will affect the layout.
