I have to admit that, as "excited" as I am about the changes and improvements that are in version 9, the presenters really just don't seem to care. I quite miss the days of Matt Pittinski bobbing up and down on his toes like an enthusiastic schoolboy showing off his science project.

I guess I want to see a little more enthusiasm from the sales rep. It is hard to get excited about the new Blackboard 9 when they don't seem to be.

My recollection at BbWorld was a statement in a keynote about Moodle and Sakai: Some departments will play with them. Why not let them?

What is the exciting presentation about software you have seen? After a decade, I am still waiting for my first one! All of them are dry. Blackboard, Moodle, Sakai, Documentum, RedDot, Apple, Sungard....

Bb has already said no cost increase at the moment. It makes sense because people from the former WebCT products will have to run both 9 and 8 side-by-side for a while and migrate data. Both of which are costly already. Bb should wait until most clients have a chance to commit. So mid 2010. :)
